Barclays Wealth and Barclays Corporate will share office space in Chelmsford that will enable the team of private bankers and wealth advisors to offer in-depth expertise to clients. The other three new offices are located in Reading, Cambridge and Norwich.
A survey commissioned by Barclays Wealth points to a rise in the number of wealthy individuals living in the south of England by 2020 of 35% from the current figure of 287,000.

The Chelmsford office will be headed by Paul Field, area director at Barclays Wealth for Kent, East Sussex and Essex.
Commenting on the opening of the new office, Field said, "The opening of this office demonstrates our belief in growth across the South East. Over the past year, we have steadily built up a team, covering Essex, Kent and Sussex, which means that we can provide our clients with local knowledge and outstanding expertise."
