Private Banker International (PBI) announced the winners of the 2016 Private Banking Middle East Awards, held in conjunction with the Private Banking: Middle East Conference in Dubai on 14th March.
Emirates NBD was named Best Local Private Bank in the Middle East 2016, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank won the award for Best Private Bank in the Middle East for Islamic Finance. Infosys scooped up two awards, namely Best Innovations in Digital Initiative – Middle and Back Office (Middle East) and Best Islamic Banking Technology Provider.
The inaugural, Middle East-focussed Awards, dedicated to celebrate excellence and achievement in the private banking markets across the region, revealed winners across 12 different categories. The winners were selected by an independent judging panel and PBI Editorial team members.

Those honoured with the Editor’s Special Awards were: Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) for the Best Innovative Client Initiative award, Temenos for winning the Best Innovative Technology Product to Watch (Middle East) award, Bank Al-Jazira for the Best Regional Private Bank to Watch award, and Arbuthnot Latham for the Best International Private Bank to Watch.

The 2016 Private Banking Middle East Awards gala dinner was preceded by an all-day conference that brought together private banks, family offices, independent wealth managers and technology vendors in discussions around the key issues currently facing the wealth markets in the Middle East, GCC regions, and globally. Both the conference and the gala dinner took place at the at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dubai.
