Charles Stanley has poached a team of six people from Brewin Dolphin’s Leicester office.

The people hired include branch head Ed Cufflin. The other team members are divisional directors.

They are now all on six months’ gardening leave and Charles Stanley will open an office for them in the city when this finishes.

Charles Stanley, chaired by Sir David Howard, currently has a 32-branch network nationwide, including a Midlands presence in Birmingham and Nottingham.

The move will result in further upheaval at Brewins, which last week announced that executive chairman Jamie Matheson was stepping down and its board was being downsized from 12 to nine, with just four executive members.
