The private wealth solutions unit was set up by Fortress in 2022 to organise its investment offering for individual clients.
Since its launch, the business has developed a range of evergreen products for high-net-worth investors spanning credit, property and net lease strategies.
The latest hires mark an international extension of that platform, with Fortress adding regional management and distribution experience in Japan and EMEA.
Umino, who is based in Tokyo, joined Fortress in March 2026 from PIMCO Japan.
There, she served as a Senior Vice President in the Japan Global Wealth Management team, working on investment solutions for wealth management clients in the country.
She has more than 25 years’ experience in Japan’s financial services sector. Her career began in fixed income institutional sales at J.P. Morgan Securities Japan.
Bush, based in London, joins from Nuveen, where he most recently held the role of Head of EMEA Strategic Accounts.
During his time there, he was responsible for developing the company’s UK wealth business, with an emphasis on private markets.
Earlier in his career, he held UK wholesale and wealth distribution positions at Allianz Global Investors and Neptune Investment Management, now part of Liontrust Asset Management.
Fortress said products developed and managed by its private wealth solutions business and affiliated entities will be made available through agreements with wirehouses.
