HSBC Global Private Banking (HSBC GPB) has announced the appointment of Ann Ling as regional head of wealth planning and advisory for Asia Pacific, effective 1 July 2025.

Ling, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in financial services, currently serves as team head of wealth planning for Hong Kong, Philippines, and international markets at HSBC.

In her new role, based in Hong Kong, Ling will lead teams of wealth planners, family advisory, and philanthropic advisory specialists across the Asia Pacific region.

According to a statement by HSBC GPB, she will focus on “deepening client relationships and driving business growth through bespoke wealth structuring and advisory solutions.”

 Additionally, Ling will oversee the delivery of the bank’s wealth planning and trust advisory services, leveraging HSBC Trustee’s nearly 80-year legacy of working with families globally, particularly in Asia.

She will report to Lok Yim, regional head of HSBC GPB, Asia Pacific.

Yim said: “Ann’s extensive experience in wealth planning, coupled with her deep understanding of international markets and family dynamics will further strengthen our leadership in delivering bespoke solutions.”

Since joining HSBC in 2019, Ling has played a key role in strengthening ties with ultra-high-net-worth families, providing expertise in trust, succession, and cross-border estate planning.

Before HSBC, Ling held senior wealth planning positions at J.P. Morgan and UBS, and previously worked at Morgan Stanley and Ernst & Young (EY), where she began her career as a graduate trainee.

Recently, HSBC appointed Ishan Sarkar as the new head of wealth and premier solutions for Singapore, effective 1 July 2025. He will report to Ashmita Acharya and Stefan Lecher.
