While in Guernsey, His Majesty King Charles III had a meeting with a group of specialists in sustainable finance.
The King and delegates from the Sustainable Markets Initiative were briefed on Guernsey’s position as an innovator and trailblazer in the realm of sustainable finance, as well as the island’s integration of eco-friendly projects into its infrastructure.

His Majesty attended a meeting hosted by Guernsey Finance, the island’s financial services promotional agency, to learn about the Guernsey Green Fund and Natural Capital Fund designations, both of which are world firsts in environmental finance.
Along with NextEnergy Group and Carey Olsen executives, the King also spoke with Gresham House and Ocorian representatives about the benefits of investing in British Sustainable Infrastructure Strategies (BSIF) and the availability of solar energy in the UK.
The King’s Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Emmanuelle Bury from BNP Paribas and Noel Quinn, the global president of HSBC, were also in attendance.

Moreover, the goal of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, also known as Terra Carta, is to create a united worldwide effort that will allow the private sector to expedite the fulfilment of targets related to global climate change, biodiversity, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
