Zurich UK Life has selected Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research to launch its new investment fund proposition for its intermediary platform in 2014.

The consultancy firm, which was set up by Richard Romer-Lee and Nigel Whittingham, will provide investment consulting and guided architecture for a new proposition for Zurich’s intermediary platform.

Zurich said that its new investment fund proposition will support advisers using its retail platform.

The consultancy firm, which will officially be launched in January 2014, will target advisers, wholesale, and asset managers, providing a fund ratings service and assisting clients in investment propositions and model portfolios.

David While, head of retail at Zurich’s UK Life business, said: "Richard and the team demonstrated a real understanding of the post RDR world for advisers and their clients, which was key for us when choosing a partner. Our offering will be outcome based, whole of market, use clean share classes only, and importantly will be fully independent."

Romer-Lee added: "We will provide support and service for a new Zurich ISA investment proposition that differentiates them in the intermediary market and supports the development and launch of investment solutions focused on the evolving needs of investors."
