Liechtenstein-based private bank VP Bank has named Tobias Wehrli as the new head of its Intermediaries & Private Banking division, replacing Chris-toph Mauchle.

Wehrli will assume the new responsibility on the 1st of next month. He will be part of the group executive management.

Wehrli previously served as VP Bank’s Intermediaries head, a role he has held since 2015.

He formerly worked as the desk head of External Asset Managers at St. Galler Kantonalbank.

He was also a partner at Financial Architects Switzerland. Besides, he had stints at UBS and Credit Suisse Group.

Meanwhile, Mauchle will depart from VP Bank at the end of this September.

VP Bank CEO Paul Arni said: “Tobias has long-standing experience of the client side of the business, and is familiar with VP Bank as well as with Liechtenstein culture.

“With his specialist expertise and management experience, he will contribute to VP Bank’s ability to continue offering its clients particularly attractive investment solutions.”

Earlier this year, VP Bank announced several board changes.

The bank said that Beat Graf and Michael Riesen will stand for re-election to its board. It also proposed the name of Katja Rosenplänter-Marxer for the board.

At the same time, the bank proposed the name of Thomas Meier, currently the deputy chairman, as the new chairman to replace Fredy Vogt.
