British wealth management firm Brewin Dolphin has appointed Toby Strauss as its new chairman and non-executive director, replacing Simon Miller.

Strauss, whose appointment awaits regulatory nod, will join the board in this capacity after the firm’s annual general meeting scheduled on 5 February 2021.

Miller will resign on the same date Strauss joins. Miller has been part of the board since 2005 and was named chairman in 2013.

At present, Strauss is a non-executive director of Legal & General, and also chairs Pacific Life Re.

Earlier, he was the group director for insurance at Lloyds Banking Group, the CEO of Aviva’s UK life and pension businesses, and the managing director of Charcol.

He also served as the CEO of John Scott & Partners that snapped up Towry Law and subsequently became part of Tilney.
