UBS Wealth Management Americas has hired a Beverly Hills-based team of two financial advisors that managed nearly US$2.6 million in fees and commissions annually from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

The team, which includes the Grueninger Group of Mark Grueninger and Ben Sauer, has joined the firm’s California office.

UBS said that the team will specialise in retirement planning and family trusts and will report to managing director David Bigler.

A registered client associates, Stacey Kin, will also join the team from Merrill Lynch.

Grueninger, who operates as a senior vice president, has started his career at UBS as a trainee in 2001. Later, he moved to Banc of America Investment services in 2003. Sauer has also started career at Banc of America Investment Services.
