American asset manager Russell Investments has hired Mark Spina as head of its US private client services (PCS) business.

In his new role, Spina will help advisors meet individual investors’ needs for outcomes utilizing Russell Investments’ multi-asset solutions, and will be also responsible for expanding firm’s US advisor-focused business.

Based in New York office, Spina will report to Russell Investments CEO Len Brennan.

Prior to joining Russell Investments, Spina worked at Pioneer Investments where he was executive vice president and head of US advisor distribution.

Earlier, he also served at Voya Investment Management, Alliance Capital and Long Bow Capital Management.

Commenting on the appointment, Brennan said: “The U.S. advisor market presents a considerable opportunity for growth as advisors increasingly look for ways to manage risk while achieving desired outcomes for their clients.

“Mark is joining our firm at a pivotal time. A new awareness of the importance of fiduciary advice is putting multi-asset investing at the forefront of the solutions that wealth managers are leveraging for clients. Mark’s deep expertise and relationships will allow us to maximize the opportunities that lie ahead.”
