Rothschild has reportedly appointed Bruno Pfister as new executive chairman of its wealth management and trust unit, and chairman of the board of Rothschild Bank Zurich.

In his new role, reported Reuters, Pfister will be based in Zurich succeeding Baron Eric de Rothschild, who chaired the business for 14 years.

Prior to joining the European family banking business firm, Pfister served Swiss Life Group as its CEO where he joined in 2002.

Pfister, who has graduated from the University of Geneva with a master’s degree in law, has also worked with Credit Suisse Group AG, McKinsey and LGT Group earlier in his career.
