River & Mercantile Group (R&M) has named Kevin Hayes as new chief financial officer.

Hayes has joined R&M from Man Group, where he served as a finance director.

Prior to this, Hayes held several roles at Lehman Brothers and Ernst & Young. He has over 20 years’ industry experience.

Hayes move follows the merger of River and Mercantile Asset Management (R&M) with an investment consultancy P-Solve last month to form a new diversified investment business, River and Mercantile Group (R&M Group).

Additionally, the newly-merged group is also planning an initial public offering to further its growth plans.

Mike Faulkner, CEO of River & Mercantile Group, said: "Kevin’s background and deep experience is a great match for what we aim to achieve and we are delighted he has joined us. His insight and skills will be critical in taking the next steps for our new business."
