River and Mercantile (R&M) has poached Neptune’s Tom De Lisle for its wholesale distribution team.

In his new role, De Lisle will work alongside Mark Thomas, managing director of wholesale and will be responsible for developing River and Mercantile relationships within the broader wealth manager market and will focus on wealth manager and discretionary fund manager sales.

De Lisle joined Neptune in November 2007, where he served as the intermediary sales manager in London, and head of family office development.

Prior to this he served at Arjent as a stockbroker and alternative investment adviser between 2004 and 2007 specializing in US equities and fixed income. De Lisle has started his career with SPG media.

Thomas said’ "Our business continues to do well and as a result of that we felt it was the right time to bring someone in.

"He will play a key role in the focused approach we take in understanding our clients’ needs, introducing them to the range of our UK and global investment products," he added.
