Canada’s ReSolve Asset Management has acquired Acorn Global Investments, a local alternative investment manager, for an undisclosed sum.
Acorn, which is a long-standing partner of ReSolve, manages around $210m in assets. The investment firm focuses on managed futures and macro strategies.

Acorn president Jason Russell said: “The two teams share similar philosophies, interests and business goals. Yet, our areas of focus and experience are diverse and complimentary. We are excited to combine resources, eliminate or reduce redundancies, and most importantly, produce the best results possible for our investors.”
Acorn’s employees will join ReSolve as part of the transaction.

The deal closed last month after securing the green light from regulators.
