Guernsey-based Ravenscroft has appointed Mark Harries as head of investment management in the UK.

Harries will work for Peterborough-based stockbroker and investment manager Vartan Ravenscroft, part of Ravenscroft. Hargreaves Lansdown founder Stephen Lansdown serves as one of Ravenscroft’s largest shareholder.

In the new role, Harries will be responsible to grow the firm’s UK presence as it braces up to roll out an onshore version of its funds range.

He most recently served as the head of manager selection at Aberdeen Asset Management. He formerly also worked at Cazenove Capital Management, and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.

“His expertise in this area will be invaluable to the group as we look to grow our brand and business in the UK. We are very pleased to welcome Mark and feel that his entrepreneurial mind-set will fit well with the existing team,” Lansdown said.
