UK-based Premier Asset Management has appointed former chief investment officer (CIO) of Framlington Asset Management Neil Birrell as its new CIO.

Birrell will be replacing Mike Jennings, who is departing the firm to pursue further opportunities.

Following the move, the Premier Global Strategic Growth fund, which is co-managed by Jennings, will be solely managed by Jake Robbins.

Birrell has joined Premier in January 2013 and has over 25 years of investment experience.

Prior joining Premier, Birrell was previously chief investment officer at Framlington Asset Management.

Additionally, the firm plans to merge its three funds to form a single global equity portfolio.
