Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as individual investors, has hired Maureen Beshar as Executive Vice President, Head of Institutional Sales.

Beshar brings significant direct institutional sales and consultant relations experience and a strong track-record in building institutional asset management businesses to this newly created position.

Beshar and her team will leverage the specialized investment expertise of Nuveen Investments’ seven independent asset management affiliates to build strategic partnerships with clients and consultants, bringing Nuveen’s multiple affiliate capabilities to institutional clients.

Based in New York City, Beshar will officially join the firm in December, and report to Tom Schreier, Nuveen Investments’ Vice Chairman of Wealth Management.

Schreier said: "We are extremely pleased to welcome a professional of Maureen’s caliber and experience to this new role. The addition of Maureen to our team is consistent with our long-standing strategic objective to further elevate our efforts on behalf of our institutional clients. With the diversity and quality of our affiliates’ investment strategies well established, and a strong foundation among our institutional sales force in place, we look forward to Maureen’s leadership and contributions in serving this important community."

Beshar comes to Nuveen Investments from ClearBridge Investments, where she served as Head of Institutional Sales and Consultant Relations. She has over 30 years of relevant experience, including her years at Lazard Asset Management and Invesco.

Ms. Beshar received her B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Fordham University and is a member of both 100 Women in Hedge Funds and the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives.
