Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Rosina Barnett as its new head of UK consultant relations.

Barnett will be based in London for the newly created role, responsible for developing relationships with investment consultants.

He will focus on factor investing, environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, liquidity solutions as well as custom passive exposures.

Barnett, with an experience of over 15 years in the asset management industry, previously served at Fidelity International and BlackRock as a consultant relations director, and at Legal & General Investment Management.

Northern Trust Asset Management Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) managing director Hazel McNeilage said: “The UK market is a strategic focus for Northern Trust Asset Management and Rosina’s appointment recognizes the important role that investment consultants play in this market.

“We are seeing both ESG and factor investing growing in importance for UK pension funds – areas where Northern Trust has significant expertise. Rosina’s knowledge and expertise as well as those of our broader team will be invaluable as we deliver these and other solutions to UK institutional investors and their consultants.”

Northern Trust Asset Management caters to institutional as well as individual investors across 29 countries. As of 30 September 2016, the firm oversaw $946bn in assets.
