Japanese brokerage firm Nomura has collaborated with Nomura Research Institute, and Nomura Real Estate Holdings to unveil an accelerator program in Japan.
The accelerator will promote open innovation to create new services, Nomura said. It is expected to launch in the end of 2016.
Certain business and social issues will be picked up as key themes for the program, and solutions will be sought from multiple startups, the company added.
Selected startups will receive the required resources from the three companies for the development of products and services.
At the same time, Nomura is also weighing plans to set up a new company that develops, invests in, and offers loans to startups.
