Moss Adams Wealth Advisors has announced that John de Carvalho has joined the firm as its chief investment officer.
A CFA charterholder with more than 10 years of capital markets experience, de Carvalho will be responsible for overseeing more than US$1.6 billion in managed assets. He will work with clients across the nation from the firm’s Seattle office.

Most recently de Carvalho served as director of portfolio management and research at Rainier Group Investment Advisory LLC, where he was responsible for developing the group’s strategic and tactical asset allocation models, macroeconomic analysis and forecast and all aspects of investment research.
He previously served as a senior analyst for Symetra Financial, where he developed the newly formed company’s treasury department, created the firm’s cash flow forecasting model and variance reporting and executed short-term investments and analyses.

A graduate of the University of Washington, de Carvalho earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus on economics and finance. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Seattle.
