Morningstar, a provider of independent investment research, has launched mutual fund and ETF newsletters applications, named FundInvestor and ETFInvestor respectively, for iPad.
The two newest apps, which follow the launch of a suite of stock and dividend focused newsletter apps earlier this year, will connect the publications’ investment ideas with current data and analyst reports through iPad helping individual investors to interact with Morningstar’s proprietary ratings, portfolio strategies, and investment research.
The company has named Russel Kinnel as editor for the mutual fund newsletter app, Morningstar FundInvestor, while Morningstar ETFInvestor, the ETF newsletter app, will be edited by Samuel Lee.
The apps will offer immediate notification of holdings-related news and availability of new issues besides allowing users to change the screen orientation and bookmark or organize articles for future reference.
Both the apps will be available for free on the App Store for iPad while non-subscribers can purchase a monthly or annual subscription to the newsletters through an In-App Purchase, the company said in a statement.
James McClamroch, head of individual investor solutions at Morningstar, said, "The new apps help individuals select superior investments for their needs and monitor them in a new way, better positioning them to meet their financial goals. We look forward to continuing to innovate on behalf of individual investors."
