French asset manager Mandarine Gestion has selected Harrington Cooper to distribute its funds in the UK.

Under the partnership, Harrington Cooper will distribute Mandarine Unique – an actively-managed small and mid-cap sub-fund of Mandarine Funds SICAV.

Mandarine Unique will be managed by Diane Bruno, Marie-Jeanne Missoffe and Marie Guigou. The fund will invest in small to mid-cap European companies which have unique business models and considerable market share in niche markets.

Harrington Cooper aims at European small and mid-cap managers in the UK largely independently of Mandarine Gestion.

Harry Dickinson, managing partner of Harrington Cooper, said: "We expect to see strong interest from fund selectors who have been consistently telling us that there is a dearth of truly excellent European small cap managers available in the UK market.

"Mandarine Gestion is just the type of asset manager that Harrington Cooper aims to represent because its funds are high-conviction, have high Active Share and its fund managers are motivated by generating alpha for their investors," he added.

Katja Boeder, director of international strategy and consultant relations at Mandarine Gestion, said: "We have established a small list of investors with Harrington Cooper which we will approach, but the bulk of it will be dealt with independently by Harrington Cooper. They will target family offices, wealth managers and multi-managers."
