Man Group, a UK-based alternative investment manager, has named Dev Sanyal as a non-executive director to its board, effective from 1 December 2013.

Sanyal will also serve as an executive vice president and group chief of staff at BP.

As part of his current role as member of executive committee at BP, Sanyal will be responsible for group strategy and planning, group risk management, government and political affairs and group integration.

Man Group said that it will boost its business by using Sanyal’s experience in capital markets, asset management, trading and foreign exchange, which he has gained from his role as group treasurer at BP.

Prior to joining Man Group, Sanya with 20 years of industry experience, has held several senior financial and line management roles in BP.

Jon Aisbitt, chairman of Man, said: "With his knowledge of financial markets, his international experience and his wide ranging operational expertise at executive level, Dev is well placed to contribute to the development and execution of our business strategy and global relationships."
