MJ Hudson, a London-based asset management and funds boutique, has opened a new office in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong office will be headed by Simon Fraser, who has joined MJ Hudson from Ogier, reported The Lawyer.

In his new role, Fraser will work together with MJ Hudson corporate lawyer Hiren Patel, who is now leading the firm’s Asia practice as well as leading expansion into the region.

MJ Hudson’s managing partner Eamon Devlin said that the new office launch follows increasing demand from the firm’s clients as well as for hedge funds, private equity houses and property funds in Hong Kong.

The firm intends to build up the office with more lateral hire partners over the next two years.

In addition, the firm is also seeking to expand its presence by adding new offices over the next two years including one in Caribbean and another location in Asia.
