The Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (IBFC) and the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to conduct research in Islamic wealth management.

Bank Negara Malaysia has established INCEIF to develop human capital for the global Islamic finance industry.

IBFC chief executive Saiful Bahari Baharom said these research findings will draw guidelines on Syariah principles for Islamic wealth management and these findings will be made into an annual journal focusing on wealth management.

Baharom added that the journal will provide transparency on the Syariah issues in wealth management.

The MoU is expected to be signed in January next year and the journal will be set to launch by end of 2014.
