Janus Capital has launched the Dublin-domiciled version of the Janus Global Unconstrained Bond fund, targeted at European investors, excluding those in Switzerland.

The fund, managed by Pimco founder Bill Gross, is being offered as part of the Janus Capital Funds range.

Gross who departed Pimco and joined Janus on September 26 this year, assumed the management of the US version of the fund which was launched at the end of May.

Augustus Cheh, president of Janus Capital International, said, "Bill’s unconstrained and duration managed strategy could be considered to be a key component to any client portfolio given the interest rate environment. The fund is highly complementary to the very successful fixed income franchise that we have built out over the last decade under the leadership of Fixed Income CIO, Gibson Smith."

The fund invests in Gross’s highest conviction ideas, offering duration flexibility, an absolute return focus, a global opportunity set and a macro-driven strategy.

It is designed to be lowly correlated to other asset classes and manage downside risk.
