Independent private bank Hampden & Co has set up its second office in Edinburgh on South Charlotte Street.

The new location will accommodate the bank’s operational and administration staff.

The bank launched operations three years ago. It also has an office in Charlotte Square, which will be used for private banking meetings.

Hampden & Co CEO Graeme Hartop said: “We are expanding our headcount and our premises. We’ve come a long way in less than three years and we will be announcing further hirings shortly. Our growth proves that there is a market for quality private banking and our belief that banking is a people business is paying off for us and our clients.”

At the same time, the bank appointed Andrew Jackson as the head of banking management for its Mayfair office in London, a newly created role.

Jackson has an experience of three decades in private banking. He most recently served at private bank Duncan Lawrie.
