Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has introduced Global Strategic Bond Fund to offer Australian investors with access to investment options across global fixed income markets.

Philip Moffitt, managing director of GSAM, said that the strategy of the fund has been designed to protect investor capital during periods of rising interest rates while allowing the investment managers to take advantage of opportunities in the market in the right environment.

The company is expecting interest rates to rise globally, as central banks gradually withdraw their accommodative policies over the next 12 to 18 months.

Moffitt said, "The Goldman Sachs Strategic Bond Fund provides Australian investors access to a broad set of investment options across global fixed income markets. The dynamic investment approach should enable it to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions and proactively manage risks, including duration risk."
