Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO for Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan) Ken Hitchner is said to retire, Bloomberg reported.
Hitchner has been working at the US-based investment bank since 1991.

He took on the current role of CEO two years ago. Prior to that, he worked as the president of the Asia Pacific business ex-Japan.
Hitchner previously also served as the global head of the Healthcare Banking Group and global co-head of the Technology, Media and Telecom Group.
Joining the Healthcare Banking Group in 1995, he led the Global Medical Device Banking Practice and the Global Pharmaceutical Banking Practice.
He was appointed as a managing director at the bank in 2000, and became a partner two years later.

By GlobalDataCiting a person privy to the information, Bloomberg said that Hitchner will continue to hold his Hong Kong-based role at the bank till the middle of this year.
Before joining Goldman Sachs, Hitchner served in the US Navy as a lieutenant commander and naval aviator.
