Increased regulatory scrutiny of hedge funds is raising new questions and considerations for fund managers as they anticipate enforcement trends and respond to evolving rules and regulations in the months ahead.

To help fund managers navigate the new regulatory landscape, Ropes & Gray will host the first-ever GAIM Regulation Conference on Feb. 4 at the global law firm’s New York office.

Throughout the day, compliance officers and general counsel from hedge funds, funds of funds and other institutional investors will hear directly from regulators and industry groups such as the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, NFA, ESMA, NAIC, FCA and CIMA to address the biggest enforcement trends, what regulators look for during an audit, and how to integrate and prepare for new rules.

Laurel FitzPatrick, co-head of the hedge fund practice, Ropes & Gray and co-managing partner of the firm’s New York office, said: "The last several years have seen tremendous changes in the regulatory environment for hedge funds. This is a chance for COOs, CCOs, and General Counsels to catch their breath and compare notes with one another — and most importantly, to hear from regulators and leading practitioners on what may be next. We are thrilled to have participation from so many distinguished regulators and in-house authorities."
