Gregard Heje, former Asia head of Ziff Brothers Investments LLC, is planning to start his own Hong Kong-based hedge fund in the second quarter of this year.

The new firm, known as Kontiki Capital Management, will include 12 staff and will follow a fundamental long/short strategy, reported Bloomberg.

Most of the firm’s staff includes former employees from Ziff Brothers in Hong Kong with Ziff brothers itself serving as an anchor investor.

Kontiki will pick stocks based on company fundamentals, according to Bloomberg.

The family office that manages the Ziff family’s publishing fortune will be an anchor investor in Heje’s Kontiki Capital Management (HK) Ltd.
