A team of financial advisers from UBS, who managed US$900 million in client assets, has launched a new independent advisory firm, Fusion Family Wealth, and partnered with Dynasty Financial Partners’ platform of wealth management services and technology.

The new firm, with offices in both New York City and Long Island, was founded by former UBS Senior vice president Jonathan Blau.

At the new firm, Blau will work alongside managing director Harvey Radler and senior wealth advisors Jeffrey Blick and Joel Bodner along with senior client service specialist James Cloudman. All four men have previously worked for UBS Wealth Management Americas for five years before partnering with Dynasty in November.

The partnership will enable Fusion to work with large accounting and law firms and manage a wide range of client needs using Dynasty’s customized platform.

Dynasty’s investment platform for the new firm will include proprietary research from Callan Associates and Wilshire Associates as well as Envestnet’s portfolio tools and reporting technology.

As part of the deal, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services will provide clearing and custody services.

Blau said: "Fusion Family Wealth was formed for a simple reason: we recognized that clients expect a high level of professional care aligned with the highest legal fiduciary standard. As an SEC registered firm, we are able to fuse these two concepts together.

"At Fusion, we are committed to offering the highest standard of care to individual clients and professional services clients. This is possible through Dynasty’s open-architecture platform of best-in-class resources. All of our clients benefit from the scale of the Dynasty Network. In addition, we now have the flexibility to work strategically with large accounting and law firms in handling a wider array of financial capabilities," he added.
