Ahmad Zuaiter, a former money manager for Soros Fund Management, is planning to launch a new hedge-fund firm, Jadara Capital Partners, to invest in countries including Argentina, Nigeria and Vietnam.

The Dubai-based asset manager will invests in the listed equities of frontier emerging markets such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East & North Africa, Southern & Central Asia, and parts of Eastern Europe and Latin America, reported Bloomberg.

Zuaiter said that the new firm will start trading during the second quarter of this year.

Zuaiter added that he has selected Dubai as it is centrally located and has good air connections with the countries in which Jadara will invest, according to Bloomberg.

Previously, Zuaiter has worked for Soros Fund Management in New York and then Istanbul from 2006 to 2011. Prior to this, he has managed money at Morgan Stanley (MS) investment-management unit for more than three years.

Zuaiter said: "This is almost a perfect time to invest in many of these countries because of their accelerating growth and strong fundamentals. Generally speaking, frontier markets are positioned to grow at a much better rate than emerging markets.
