Manulife Asset Management has appointed Chan Hock Fai as its new head of equities investment in Singapore.

In the new role, Hock Fai will spearhead all of the Singapore-based equity strategies. He will also oversee the local team of equities investment professionals.

Prior to joining Manulife, Hock Fai served as director of investment for Amundi Asset Management in Singapore.

At Amundi, he managed Singapore, regional (Asia Pacific excluding Japan) and global multi-asset portfolios.

At present, the Asia equities team has more than 80 on-the-ground investment professionals across 10 markets in Asia. In 2017, Manulife carried out structural and leadership changes across its North American and Asian businesses to bring its global wealth and asset management units together.
