Calamos Investments, a US-based investment management firm, has appointed R. Matthew Freund as co-portfolio manager for various mutual funds and closed end funds.
Freund, who has over two decades of experience in investment management, was recently hired as co-chief investment officer and head of fixed income strategies.
Prior to joining Calamos, he served as chief investment officer at USAA Investments, where he oversaw more than $140bn in assets.
He also led the teams responsible for the portfolio management of the company’s mutual funds and affiliated portfolios, including property and casualty and life insurance products.
