BNY Mellon Wealth Management has appointed Trevor Hunt as new vice president for business development for its advisory services in Toronto, renamed as i3WealthAdvisors.

Additionally, the firm has appointed Drew Maldonado as a senior director for business development in Madison and Kathleen Stewart as a wealth strategist in Pittsburgh, according to Bank Investment Consultant.

In her new role, Stewart will work with high-net-worth individuals and families’ primarily in western Pennsylvania and supports the firm’s offices in Cleveland and Chicago.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Hunt worked with Stanhope Capital LLP in London, while Maldonado served as a managing director at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management where he managed the equities business.

Stewart has joined BNY Mellon from fi360, where she served as vice president for fiduciary research responsible for fiduciary training programs and providing research and support on fiduciary matters to professionals with the accredited investment fiduciary designation.

BNY Mellon said that the new appointments are part of its strategy to increase its sales force by 50% and add private and mortgage bankers and other professionals in key wealth markets by the end of 2014. Furthermore, the firm plans to hire 32 net new sales hires by year-end with 18 more to come next year.
