US fund house BlackRock has hired Andrew Reynolds as chief financial officer and head of corporate strategy for the Asia-Pacific region, with effect from 25 February.

Based in Hong Kong, Reynolds will report to Mark McCombe, BlackRock, senior managing director, chairman, Asia/Pacific, according to Asia Asset Management.

Additionally, Reynolds will also assume the line-management responsibility for the Taiwan and Korea country heads.

However, the new role will closely align the finance and strategy teams in the growth of the company’s business regionally.

Reynolds has joined BlackRock from CLSA, where he served as global COO and CEO Asia from 2012 to 2013, and prior to that as CEO of Asia.
