Barclays Wealth and Investment Management has appointed Ian Aylward as the new head of manager and fund selection in its global investments and solutions (GI&S) team, replacing Jaime Arguello who left the firm to join Architas as CIO.
Aylward will be tasked with selection, investment and monitoring of managers and funds across Barclays’ investment proposition.

He will oversee the management of single and multi-asset funds in the firm's multi-manager unit, and will report to Barclays Wealth CIO Arne Hassel.
Aylward most recently served as the investment director and head of manager selection at Punter Southall Aspire.
His previous roles include head of multi-manager research at Aviva Investors and head of alternatives research at Skandia Investment Group.
