Barclays has restructured regional responsibilities for some of its senior wealth management team.

The change will see David Semaya’s role as head of UK and Ireland taken over by Emmanuel Fievet.

According to a Barclays spokesperson, Semaya will lead an initiative to establish “a centre of excellence” for asset management at the private bank through an “evaluation of existing expertise”.

“This ties into the firm’s ambition to integrate its core efficiencies and harness all resources across the business for the benefit of our clients,” the spokesperson said.

Fievet, who is currently head of EMEA at Barclays, will maintain his current responsibilities for Switzerland, Monaco and Eastern Europe.

Meanwhile Didier Von Daeniken will take on the MENA and Africa businesses, in addition to his responsibilities as the head of wealth management Asia.

The changes will take effect immediately, with the trio working together in an attempt to ensure a seamless transition, the bank said.
