Barclays has named Michael Harte as new chief operations and technology officer.
In his new role, Harte will report to group chief executive, Antony Jenkins.

In addition, he will also serve as a member of the group’s executive committee.
Harte is currently group executive of enterprise services and chief information officer at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group (CBA).
Previously, Harte was responsible for O&T operations at CBA since 2006 managing group-wide retail and institutional banking systems and operations, brokerage, wealth and asset management systems.
Before to joining CBA, he served as executive vice president, CIO at PNC Financial Services as a vice president, information technology at Citigroup from 1996 to 2001.
