AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed Mark Hargraves as the global head of Framlington Equities, replacing Matthew Lovatt.

Hargraves will operate out of London in the new role, which he assumes immediately.

He will be in charge of the unit’s London, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong offices and will also retain his portfolio management responsibilities.

A 20-year veteran at AXA IM, Hargraves will report to AXA IM Core global head Hans Stoter.

Meanwhile, Lovatt will now serve as the global head of client group Core.

AXA IM Core was recently created as part of an organisation overhaul.

The business unit includes the Fixed Income, Framlington Equities and Multi-Asset investment platforms.

Additionally, Isabelle de Gavoty has now been appointed as the deputy head of Framlington Equities.

She has been working at AXA IM since 1998 and previously was the lead portfolio manager in the Small and Mid-Cap team.

She formerly had a stint at Société Générale.

She will report to Hargraves in the new role and retain her existing portfolio management responsibilities.

AXA IM has seen various management changes recently.

Last year, the firm’s CEO Andrea Rossi resigned after being at the helm for six years.

AXA IM board chairman Christof Kutscher also stepped down after holding the role since 2014.
