Arbuthnot Latham & Co. has opened its first international branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

"We chose Dubai as our first international office due to our extensive knowledge and experience of the region and a genuine need in the local market for exceptional private banking and wealth management services," said James Fleming, CEO of Arbuthnot Latham.

The UK based private bank has appointed four senior bankers to support their Dubai operation.

Paul Donovan and Kieran McDonnell, formerly of Coutts, have been appointed as directors, while Giles Hanson and Peter Casey, formerly of HSBC and Barclays, have been appointed as associate directors.

Additionally, Clare Doyle, Frances White and David Smith have been appointed as private banking executives to support client and banking operations for the Dubai office.

Abdulla Mohammed Saleh, Governor of DIFC, added: "We are delighted to welcome Arbuthnot Latham to Dubai and to the growing network of financial and professional services firms based in DIFC, and look forward to contribute to the firm’s growth and global expansion."
