Arbuthnot Latham & Co has appointed Rob Stapledon and Michele Coomber to its new commercial banking business specialising in and focusing on the media sector as part of an on-going expansion programme.

Rob and Michele’s appointments are the first of a number of hires to this new area of Arbuthnot Latham’s business and will augment the bank’s existing offerings of private banking, wealth planning and investment management.

Arbuthnot Latham’s Chief Executive, James Fleming, said: "As we enter a new phase of Arbuthnot Latham’s expansion programme, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Rob Stapledon and Michele Coomber to our new commercial banking business. The rationale for this new focus is our strong belief that clients and their businesses are closely linked and therefore should be supported together.

"Rob and Michele are highly regarded within the media arena and are considered specialists within this field having worked with many in the media and entertainment sectors.

Rob Stapledon said: "Arbuthnot Latham has an excellent reputation in the media sector for looking after individuals and I relish the opportunity to build the bank’s reputation for looking after owner-managed, independent media businesses."

Michele Coomber added: "I am delighted to be involved at the outset of this new venture which brings about an exciting opportunity to develop and grow the commercial media offering."
