The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) has unveiled plans to launch a new office in Singapore in 2019.

The new office will boost AFP’s ability to help the region’s organisations engage and train their finance and treasury staff effectively. At the same time, the office also aims to help practitioners achieve their career potential.

The Singapore office will be headed by Himashi Soriano, who has been working at AFP since more than 13 years in various positions.

Soriano has now been named regional director of APAC at AFP. In this role, she will manage operations, build customer relationships and develop partnerships in the region.

She will also be responsible for hiring as well as heading a team of sales, services and support staff.

AFP president and CEO Jim Kaitz said: “The corporate finance profession is rapidly transforming, and nowhere more so than in Asia.
