Credit Suisse Group has appointed Joanne Hannaford as new chief technology & operations officer as current COO James Walker will assume new responsibility in the US.
The appointment comes at a time when Swiss bank is planning to consolidate its private banking units after being hit by two back-to-back scandals.

The new appointment will be effective from 1 January next year.
Hannaford will join Credit Suisse Group from Goldman Sachs, where she held a number of senior roles.
James Walker will continue his role until the end of the year, following which, become the deputy CEO of Credit Suisse Holdings (USA), Inc. He will be based in the US.
