BMO Global Asset Management has appointed Richard Wilson as its new CEO and CIO with immediate effect, as co-CEO Rajiv Silgardo prepares to retire from the company in August.

He previously served as BMO Global Asset Management EMEA CEO.

Wilson was named as the CEO of F&C Asset Management in January 2013 before its takeover by BMO. He previously also held other senior roles at F&C such as head of equities and head of investment and institutional.

His earlier roles include UK equity manager with HSBC Asset Management, managing director of global equities at Deutsche Asset Management, and head of international equity investments at Gartmore Investment Management.
