Alliance Trust Investments’ (ATI) managing director (MD) Edward Troughton is set to leave the firm by the end of this year to pursue another opportunity within the industry.

Troughton had joined ATI in 2008 and built its asset management business, which now manages over £2 billion.

Katherine Garrett-Cox, CEO of ATI, will be responsible for overseeing the overall business until a replacement for Troughton will be appointed, while the fund management responsibilities within ATI will remain unchanged.

"We remain committed to the long-term growth of the ATI business so that it will be a positive contributor to the results of the trust," Garrett-Cox added.
