The investment by Baird will provide Alpha with a new, more flexible capital structure, allowing it to expand the US business, broaden its service offering and also potential entry into new markets.

Kent said this is an extremely exciting development for Alpha, but will not affect their core focus on how they serve their clients, look after their people, or their unique culture.

Fraser said the deal is a powerful endorsement of the niche financial services consulting industry in the UK.

"The growth of Alpha into a substantial and mature consulting business and the emergence of a number of niche consulting firms at the expense of the ‘Big 4’ demonstrate the attractiveness of the specialist model in providing high-quality, focussed client service and providing more attractive career development for staff," Fraser added.
