State Street Investment Management has taken a minority stake in getquin, a Germany-based digital wealth platform for retail investors.
The deal is part of getquin’s €12m ($13.9m) funding round, which was led by Portage and State Street.
Access deeper industry intelligence
Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
According to State Street, the move fits its plan to work with technology platforms to widen access to investment products, support retirement planning over the long term and build digital intermediary distribution in Europe.
Getquin combines financial information in a single platform and offers users tools to assess their wider wealth position through analytics, planning features and AI-based insights.
The company aims to turn those insights into more tailored guidance to support financial decision-making.
The agreement also sets up a working relationship between the two groups, linking State Street Investment Management’s background in portfolio construction with getquin’s digital wealth platform and data-based approach.
As part of the arrangement, getquin will create and roll out wealth management investment offerings, while State Street Investment Management will supply ETF-based products for inclusion in getquin’s investment advice.
Getquin co‑founder and CEO Christian Rokitta said:“Our vision is to give investors one intelligent platform that provides clarity on where they stand today, where they are headed, and how to make better financial decisions to reach their goals. Having a partner like State Street Investment Management on board is a strong validation of this ambition.”
Through getquin’s aggregated client data, analytics and expanding user base, State Street Investment Management will also add a digital route to market focused on investor education and engagement.
State Street Investment Management CEO Yie‑Hsin Hung said: “The retail investment landscape in Germany stands at a unique and exciting crossroads, representing a compelling opportunity for an innovative firm like getquin to thrive.
“Against this backdrop, our partnership with getquin will allow us to bring the benefits of our deep expertise, global scale and culture of innovation to a broader audience of retail investors.”
Earlier this year, State Street Investment Management sealed a deal worth up to Rs5.8bn (then $64.2m) for acquisition of a 23% holding in Groww Asset Management.
